Construction: strip plank wood construction, teak below the waterline, mahogany above, laminated rock elm frames, steel floors.
For additional strength, the previous owner had the entire hull sheathed in two thin double diagonal layers of mahogany which were coated with epoxy resin.
Currently lying at the Vaiare Marina in Moorea, adjacent to Tahiti, in French Polynesia.
The previous owner sailed the boat from Europe to Tahiti across the Atlantic, through the Panama Canal and south to Chile before crossing the Pacific to the Juan Fernandez Islands , Pitcairn Island and Mangareva, reaching Tahiti in 2008.
Bought the boat in 2020 but was unable to go out to Tahiti until September this year because of the pandemic.
Unfortunately, the boat has suffered from the effects of heat, humidity and dry rot. Much of the starboard topside planking, and a small part of the port side will need replacing. The teak planking below the waterline is however intact. The cockpit and part of the aft deck needs rebuilding. The main coachroof/cabin top needs replacing though the beams, carlins, cabin sides and cabin windows are intact. There is currently no engine fitted though the stern gear, exhaust system and fuel tank are all in place.
Masts [ aluminium] and rig all heavy duty and in fairly good condition.
There are no lift out facilities on Moorea itself except for small craft, however there are several boat yards on the main island of Tahiti at Papeete and one at Taravao.
